Lane Bryant grand opening giveaways a winner

Today I decided to try my luck and check out a different store to see what they had for me.

Lane Bryant, the popular plus size store, just opened another store in Brandon, Fla. conveniently located at an outdoor shopping strip rather than in an indoor shopping mall. The grand opening started with a three-day celebration with sales and $25 gift card giveaways – 50 a day, five every hour. I had never shopped at Lane Bryant but thought the incentive was nice and I sure was in need of intimate apparel. I had nothing to lose.

We arrived in Brandon about half hour after they opened and were immediately greeted by the manager Sean who informed us to enter the $25 gift card giveaway. The first winners had not been picked yet. We browsed around and of course checked out Cacique’s exclusive intimate apparel section. About 11 a.m. I hear my name called out so I answer to the call out. Yes, I was one of the winners of the $25 Lane Bryant gift card. Another name was called out and for our luck it was my mom’s - two gift cards, okay let’s do it.

Back to the intimate apparel section but after all, the final decision was for the Cotton no-wire bra instead. I find the wire bras uncomfortable and after trying on the Cotton no-wire bra, I was pleased. And more pleased I was with the purchase outcome – buy one get second at 50% off ($29.50 for the Cotton no-wire bras we chose), using the Lane Bryant online August coupon deal and the gift cards. Our final purchase total was $17.95 for four bras.

So mission accomplished at Lane Bryant, thank you for the gift card giveaways and for our bargains!

The celebration continues this weekend until Sunday, August 18. Stop on by the Lake Brandon Plaza at 11225 Causeway Blvd. in Brandon, Fla. that is if you live close by. Or simply shop online and use the Lane Bryant online August coupon deal or whichever deal is being offered.

Half a year already done and what is to come...

Juanes Loud & Unplugged Tour in Tampa, Fla.

Another month done, half a year has flashed by my eyes so quick but with some amazing experiences. I went out of my music comfort zone and tried some Spanish rock, vallenato, and rap.

 

An unexpected invitation to join Spaniard Alejandro Sanz in Miami for a private interview and his concert later in the evening. Colombian rock singer Juanes and American-Cuban Pitbull gave much to buzz about in Tampa, Fla. which I hope is the start of many Latino entertainers making way once again into big venues in Tampa. A few road trips to catch Colombian Vallenato singer Carlos Vives at the Amway Arena in Orlando, Fla. and witness for the second year an array of celebrities and artists at Premios Juventud in Miami, Fla.

Oh and coming from a baseball family, I was honored to join the Tampa Bay Rays team with their annual Rays on the Runway event to raise money for The Children's Dream Fund.

Juanes ends his 2013 Loud & Unplugged electrifying tour

Juanes an amazing singer, songwriter, guitarist and showman wrapped up his electrifying, acoustical 2013 Loud & Unplugged tour in Tampa, Fla. He and his 10 piece band and two backup singers visited 25 cities in the United States, two concerts in Canada and six in Latin America. One concert after another was full of energy from Raquel Sofia's guitar solo opening performance who is notably one of Juanes' backup singers to the finale farewell.

The Colombian rock artist returned after a brief absence from the music world to bring a better and different side of himself. He is very well in tuned to getting all his audiences hyped, participate in his concerts and have an intimate evening. Not only Hispanics attended his concerts but also the Anglos due to his exposure on Dancing With The Stars, performance in the Grammys and recording in English.

 

I enjoyed, wait loved his concert. It was my first Juanes concert although I have seen him perform on television and at live award shows but seeing him in an actual concert  was surreal. I am not a rock genre fan but his rock music is somewhat different and an asset as he takes  songs of other genres and puts magic to them - a salsa classic with an added flare of rock. You have  to get up and dance even if that was not your intention.

Las Gorditas Poderosas - Full Figure Power

Y quien dice que las gorditas no tienen poder. Sabemos que algunas tenemos curvas peligrosas con un poco más de peso en un lugar que en otro(s) pero no debemos acomplejarnos si no llevarlo más allá de lo que podemos, claro con buen gusto.

Yo misma a veces me acomplejo y me frustro en no poder encontrar pantalones que me queden bien ya que tengo mas cadera que cintura. Me mido 20 pantalones sin suerte ya que muchas veces la cintura me baila o sea esta muy ancha. Rara la vez que se pueda ajustar en la cintura por lo menos un par para mi (mi mama es una experta en eso).

I come from a family that we stock up, well actually mom. I normally stock up on hair products when I find bargains until I ran out of hairspray, oh no! The last can I bought was $1 for an 8 oz. can which I couldn't remember where it was purchased nor found it after shopping around. Unbelievable the price of hairspray now umf! I looked in several places at home and found a bottle of Pantene Hairspray. Pantene to my rescue for now.

While shopping at CVS, I swiped my CVS Extra Care card to see what coupons the machine would print out. Aha save $2 off of $10 hair product purchase. After checking and comparing hairspray prices, I found my lifesaver. The best deal was Vidal Sassoon 14 oz. can on sale - 2 for $8 with $2 coupon attached to each product.

Total purchase for 3 cans of hairspray $12.84 


After all applicable discounts final purchase total $4.84 about $1.61 for a 14 oz. can of hairspray.

BTW I went back today for more Vidal Sassoon hair products.
